Individuals of all ages are invited to this series of performances inspired by American musical traditions. This series, held in the Clowes Auditorium at Central Library, is made possible by Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation. This program will feature a dual performance of bluegrass and blues. Described as four women interpreting bluegrass standards and exploring Americana music, The Whipstitch Sallies will combine vocal harmonies and skillful guitar picking into a potent folk and bluegrass mix. Also, blues musician Andra Faye, accompanied by local jazz guitarist Scott Ballantine will perform standards from blues, jazz and country, as well as original material. Faye plays fiddle, mandolin and guitar, in addition to her vast vocal repertoire.
