Fourth Annual Original and Fabulous GermanFest (Indianapolis)

Discover your inner-German and party at the 4th Annual Original and Fabulous GermanFest. All proceeds from this event benefit the maintenance and care of the Historic Athenaeum. Celebrate German-American Day with this unique family event.

Dog races on the hour, every hour from 1-5 p.m. Kids area open 12-6 p.m. Two stages of entertainment. Strongmen contest from 12:30-5 p.m. 5K Lederhosen Lauf Run/Walk start at 12:30 p.m.

12:00 – Opening Ceremonies with Mayor Ballard
12:30 – Lederhosen Lauf Start
Wiener Dog Races – 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00, 5:00
Free Docent Led Tours – 1:30, 2:30, 3:30, 4:30
Cornhole Tournament – 1:00 until end
Strongman Contest – Begins at 1:00 and ongoing

3:15 – Hoosier German-American of the Year Presentation: Senator Lugar to be honored

Cost: $5 in advance, $10 day of event, $5 after 6 p.m. Children 12 and under are admitted free. Come in Bavarian gear and get five free food/drink tickets!
